Mayor william lachica has formally received the award of the local government of kalibo award from the phil. Chinese chamber of commerce and industry (pcci) on october 13, 2016.
Pcci, for the second time, declared kalibo as the most business friendly municipality category i for 2016. According to mayor william lachica, the municipality of kalibo topped the three municipalities who underwent with the evaluation
No less than the president of the republic of the philippines, rodrigo roa duterte conferred the award.
Mayor lachica also expressed his gratitude and shares the award with the employees of the lgu kalibo and other stakeholders.
The municipality of kalibo will no longer accept unsegregated garbage from the barangays.
This is in compliance with one of the provisions of r.a. 9003 – no segregation no collection policy. During the solid waste management board meeting, the solid waste management office informed representatives from the barangays of kalibo about their responsibility on waste management and the strict implementation of r.a. 9003 of the denr.
Ms. Adorada reynaldo of the solid waste management office stated that the denr will be implementing the safe closure and rehabilitation plan in october.
In compliance to this order, lgu kalibo has also made its move for the safe closure plan.
The Green Team emerged as Champion in the recently concluded 22nd Kalibo Municipal Officials & Employees Sportsfest 2016 held on September 19-23, 2016.
The said activity was spearheaded by the Office For Human Resource Management of the municipality of Kalibo. Green team garnered 507 points in different events including fun walk and the Search For Binibining Ginoo.
Blue team placed second with 471 points, red team on third place with 399 points, while yellow and orange teams settled on 4th and fifth places with 303 points and 273 points respectively.
Crowned as Binibining Ginoo 2016 was Red Team’s representative PO1 Warren Lastrilla.
The local government of kalibo headed by mayor william lachica has announced its support on the denr’s “bayan ko, linis ko” program.
The program aims to promote cleanliness promote cleanliness in coastal and inland waterways, esteros, creeks, public places, parks, schools, churches, public and private establishments and all other areas nationwide this program also strengthens the implementation of republic act 9003 or the ecological solid waste management act of 2000.
Lgu kalibo along with other stakeholder is scheduled to take part in this activity. The month of september, through proclamation no. 244 series of 1993, has been declared as national clean-up month.
